“MOVING MIDWAY” SCREENS AT NEW DIRECTORS/NEW FILMS, OTHER FESTS

MOVING MIDWAY has attained an extraordinary honor in being invited to screen in the 2008 edition of the New Directors/New Films festival in New York, a co-presentation of the Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center.

“I could not be more thrilled by any festival invitation,” director Godfrey Cheshire said. “As a film critic, I have long regarded ND/NF as the single most prestigious venue for new films in the U.S.

“It is effectively the springtime sibling of the fall’s New York Film Festival. Thousands of films are submitted from all over the world, and this year there are only 26 feature slots. We are one of only three U.S. documentaries invited.

“We on the MOVING MIDWAY team are currently working hard on a distribution deal that should put the film in theaters nationwide in the fall. The ND/NF screenings are perfect in giving us a chance to get it in front of members of the national press. It will be exciting to read the film’s first New York reviews.”

The New Directors/New Films festival runs March 26-April 6. MOVING MIDWAY will have two screenings:

Saturday, March 29, 8:30pm at the Walter Reade Theater, Lincoln Center
Sunday, March 30, 4:45pm at the Museum of Modern Art

Tickets, $12 each, will be available from March 7 at the Film Society’s website: www.filmlinc.com.
